About Elliott Lloyd
Born 1937. Raised in Sioux City, Iowa, and attended The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. He is a resident and has a studio in Long Island City, Queens, New York.
One-person exhibitions have included: David Richard Gallery New York, Y Gallery New York, and Queens, New York; Hal Bromm Gallery, Soho Center For the Arts; and Sachs Gallery, New York.
Group exhibitions include Michael Walls, Ruth Siegel, Susan Caldwell, Robert Elkon, Tibor De Nagy galleries, the Bowers, Aldrich, Newark, and Whitney Museums.
The School of Visual Arts, curated by William Agee, The Elvehjem Art Center of the University of Wisconsin, Madison Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, Montgomery, Alabama, Glassborough State College, New York, Bowes Museum, Santa Ana, California, and University of Michigan, Ann Arbor are among universities hosting groups exhibitions including his work.
He is in many public and private collections, which include: The Whitney Museum of American Art, Aldrich Museum, Newark Museum, James Michener Collection, University of Texas, Guild Hall, and Chase Bank.
Publications Include The New York Times, Art Forum (Roberta Smith), Art International (Carter Ratcliff), and Art in America.
Elliott taught life drawing for twelve years at Parsons School of Design, New York.
